How to maintain a concrete mixing plant during the cold winter season?

It is imperative to do a good job in the maintenance of the mixing plant in winter. Good maintenance can not only increase the service life of the mechanical equipment in the mixing plant, but also effectively improve work efficiency.

  1. Inspection items before each use
    (1) Check the wear and fixing condition of all steel wire ropes. The steel wire ropes are securely fixed and should be replaced if they are severely worn.
    (2) Check if the water pump is filled with reference water, if the flushing valve is closed, and if the pipeline is clean and unobstructed.
    (3) Check whether the cement weighing hopper discharge door, mixer discharge door, etc. are closed flexibly and reliably.
    (4) Check if there is sufficient lubricating oil at each lubrication point and gearbox.
    (5) Checking the gap between the scraper blade and the lining plate of the mixer to maintain good condition at all times is crucial for extending the service life of the mixer.
    (6) Check if the self-protection device of the air compressor is reliable and if the air pressure is stable at around 0.7MPa.
    (7) Check whether each electrical device is safe and reliable, whether each travel switch is flexible and reliable, especially whether the hopper lifting limit is reliable.
  2. Maintenance items after each shift
    (1) Clean up the debris and residue inside the mixer.
    (2) Drain the gas and accumulated water from the air compressor reservoir.
    (3) Add lubricating oil to each lubrication point.
    (4) Disconnect the main power supply and microcomputer power supply after shutdown.
  3. Weekly inspection and maintenance items
    (1) Check the setting condition of residual concrete in the mixing drum. If there is any setting, stop the machine, cut off the power, assign a dedicated person to supervise, and manually remove it. Check the gap between the mixing blades and the lining plate, and adjust it if it is not suitable.
    (2) Check whether there is any air leakage in the pneumatic system and whether the actions of each cylinder are reliable.
    (3) Check whether there is any damage to the electrical components of the electrical system, and repair and replace them if there is any damage. Check if all wiring is loose.
    (4) Check the quality and liquid level of the gearbox lubricating oil. If it does not meet the requirements, it should be replaced or added.
  4. Routine inspection and maintenance items
    (1) Ensure the cleanliness of the host and its surrounding environment. For example, checking the gaps between the mixing blades, lining plates, and scrapers; Check if there is any shaft holding phenomenon in the mixing host; Check whether the discharge door and feeding hopper are flexible and sealed, and if there are any problems, promptly repair them.
    (2) Always check and clean the accumulated material in the hopper to ensure that the sensor returns to zero normally.
    (3) Check whether the lubricating oil at each lubrication point is sufficient, and the oil mist device in the pneumatic system should maintain sufficient oil volume.
    (4) Check for overheating and abnormal noise in all motors and electrical appliances, normal instrument readings, and proper operation of the signal system.
    (5) Regularly check and adjust cylinders, vibration motors, solenoid valves, etc. to ensure that they meet the standards for opening and closing.
    (6) Regularly inspect all systems and promptly address any issues such as dust, air, oil, or electrical leakage.
    (7) The mixing machine and the inlet and outlet hoppers should be cleaned every four hours to prevent residual concrete from setting and hindering normal operation.
    (8) Every time, the accumulated water inside the air compressor, gas storage tank, and filter should be drained, and any malfunctions that may occur during operation should be eliminated.
    (9) Butterfly valves, mixing machines, solenoid valves, air filters, vibration motors, and oil mist devices should be maintained and serviced according to the relevant instructions.
Not only in winter, but also at all times, the maintenance of concrete mixing plants should be done as much as possible to avoid equipment failure problems. This will improve work efficiency and economic benefits.
